The beauty of copper
Copper pots and pans of varying shape and size, are the oldest evidence of the great variety of italian cuisine, different from region to region. To prevent the product from oxidizing, the material must be polished constantly. It is a practice that is deeply rooted in the territory.
The charm of copper is connected to the age factor. Compared to other materials, the more it ages, the more interesting it becomes, assuming always different colors. So designing a copper object means thinking of an immortal product, destined to survive forever.
We designed a wall clock that shows the flow of time: on the one hand, the artificial and conventional time of man-made hands, on the other the natural one of copper.
Two times that start at the same time and will take different paths. At a certain point if man should stop his calculation of time, nature will never cease to show its influence.
* Copper-field, in reference to the “magical” aging of copper (from the name of the famous magician).
